Events of the Past Season

The first program will take place on Sunday, October 5 at 4 PM with the American pianist George Pappastavrou performing the complete 24 Chopin Preludes. The recital, entitled “Preludes to a Season,” will be followed by a reception and an unveiling of the remainder of the 2008-09 PianoWorks season.

Three fabulous young professionals join together in a program of solo piano, duets with piano, and trios – violin, cello and piano.

In 1997, a group of talented musicians formed a chamber music ensemble under the tutelage of renowned artists Earl Carlyss and Ann Schein. They named the group after the Nineteenth Century composer whose versatility they greatly admired, and the Mendelssohn Piano Trio was born.
